Background
University baseball has compelling teams and players, yet records alone rarely help a first-time viewer understand what makes each team distinct. This project set out to lower that first barrier.
The challenge
Information existed, but it was not organized in a voice or sequence that invited new fans in. The editorial structure needed to answer a simple question: why should I follow this team?
Audience
- Potential fans new to university baseball
- Readers who want context before watching a game
- Content audiences looking for new sports stories
Insight
Statistics build credibility; human stories build memory. Together, they give people a reason to care about a team they have just met.
Strategy and execution
I combined verified records with interviews and personality-led details, then shaped them into a repeatable series. I planned the format, researched teams and players, conducted interviews, wrote the articles and maintained the editorial structure.
Role
Content planning, research, reporting, writing and editorial composition.
Outcome
The published KUSF articles verify the work. No reach or conversion figures are claimed because no validated platform analytics are available.
Limitations and learning
Without audience data, I could not quantify how the series changed fan behavior. A future iteration would define response metrics before publication and connect the article to photography and short-form content after release.
